Changelog
What’s new
Changes to Kernel6, newest first.
3 October 2026
- Every website is served through an HTTPS reverse proxy at its own address, and the routing updates automatically when you deploy, stop, start or delete a project.
- Your own domains are routed through the same proxy once they are verified, with certificates issued and renewed automatically.
- Platform addresses can no longer be claimed as a custom domain, and project names can no longer affect proxy configuration.
- New developer API: create API keys in Settings and deploy, inspect and manage projects from scripts and CI.
- New public pages: documentation, blog, about, security, terms of service, privacy policy, and refunds & cancellation.
- Invoices, receipts and emails were simplified to show only Kernel6 and the contact page.
30 August 2026
- Dedicated plan: each paying customer’s projects are placed on a server assigned to their account.
- The dashboard shows your server’s status while it is being set up.
- Each app’s memory limit is now based on the server it actually runs on — half of its memory, at least 512 MB.
- Support staff can view a project’s details and domains to help with questions; environment variables are never shown to anyone.
27 August 2026
- Pricing moved from per-website to per-server: the Dedicated plan is ₹2,000 a month for a 1 CPU · 4 GB server with as many websites as it will hold.
- Account settings: change your name, email and password, or delete your account. You are emailed when your password or email changes.
- Invoices open as a clean A4 document you can print or save as PDF.
- Clear notices on the dashboard and by email when a balance is outstanding.
- A redesigned home page.
9 August 2026
- Environment variables, encrypted at rest, with a “Paste .env” importer.
- Build settings: root directory and custom install, build and start commands.
- Runtime logs fetched live from the server, and start, stop and restart buttons.
- Custom domains with DNS verification.
- Health checks every five minutes, with emails when an app goes down and when it recovers.
- Installs and builds run inside memory and CPU limits so one build cannot starve a server.
- Deploys check that the app answers — on the server and from the internet — before reporting success.
- Password reset by email, a contact form, invoices and billing history, and cancelling a subscription from the billing page.
8 August 2026
- The product is renamed Kernel6.
17 July 2026
- First release: sign up, connect a Git repository, and deploy it to a server on AWS with one button.
- Live build output while a deploy runs, and a history of every deployment.
- Subscriptions through Razorpay, Stripe and Dodo Payments.
- A new interface built on a consistent design system.
