For the day-to-day, no. After setup you press one button to publish updates and everything else is automatic. The first connection does need someone who knows where your website’s code is kept — usually whoever built it for you.
We notice within minutes and try to restart it automatically. If it stays down you get an email explaining what happened, including the error your website reported. You are not left refreshing the page wondering.

No. There is no contract and no notice period — one button in your account cancels it, and your websites keep running until the end of the month you have already paid for. Your website’s code stays yours and stays where it already is; we only run a copy of it, so you take everything with you.
Any passwords and keys your website needs are encrypted before we store them, and they cannot be read back out afterwards — not even through our own dashboard. Encrypted addresses (https) for your site are coming shortly; today sites are served over plain http, so tell us before putting a payment form on one.
